New Life operates out of two main locations in Brooklyn and Manhattan.
New Life seeks to implement their mission statement with the New York City youth through a program that incorporates New Life’s “4 Pillars” listed below.
Arts: New Life’s artistic mission component is delivered through their weekly activities with the Youth Counselors. An art project or activity is incorporated 2-3 times per week. New Life works to cultivate an interest in the arts through dance and other unique & fun activities.
Academics: Academic development is a daily goal across the organization. Starting at 2:00 pm, New Life offers assistance to any student within their program. New Life seeks to offer homework, study help, or other educational activities. Academic success is highly emphasized in the current programming to help foster the success of the youth within the program.
Athletics: New Life recognizes the importance of athletics as it encourages physical health while developing the youth’s relational intelligence. After New Life’s Academic Development portion of their program, they allow the youth to be engaged in a variety of different athletic activities ranging from going to a park, playing volleyball, and participating in basketball camps and leagues. Athletics are a key part of the New Life student recruiting/outreach. New Life also uses events such as their bowling night to further promote community and collaboration among the youth they seek to reach.
Spirituality: New Life endeavors to bring people to the Lord by creating opportunities to share the Gospel by being a regular presence in student’s lives. New Life provides a safe space for students to process complicated life issues through weekly bible studies which enables them to develop trust-based relationships and learn more about God. In the summer, sleep-away camps at Lake Champion provide an intentional forum to share the Gospel.
